Wuap
Privacy Policy – Email Access
Last updated: Apr 1, 2026
What Wuap Collects
Wuap collects the information needed to provide budgeting, transaction tracking, financial coaching, and account features.
Depending on the features you use, this can include account information (name, email, profile image), transactions, budgets, categories, financial profile data, uploaded bank documents, and Gmail transaction emails if you explicitly connect that integration.
Wuap does not require Gmail or AI features for basic access to the app. Those features are optional and require additional consent.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to operate the app, show your financial activity, generate budgets, calculate spending insights, and improve the reliability of the service.
If you use AI-powered features, Wuap may process the specific data needed for that feature, such as your messages to the coach, your uploaded bank document content, your transaction details, your budgets, categories, and financial profile data.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use your personal financial data for third-party advertising.
AI Processing and Consent
Wuap uses Claude by Anthropic as a third-party AI provider for the AI coach, Smart Budget guidance, document extraction, and Gmail-based transaction extraction.
Before Wuap sends personal or financial data to Anthropic for these AI-powered features, the app asks for your permission in-app and explains what data may be shared and why.
If you do not grant that permission, AI-powered features remain blocked and Wuap does not send that data to Anthropic for those features.
Third Parties and Service Providers
Wuap shares data only as needed to provide the service. This includes infrastructure providers such as hosting, database, storage, analytics, error monitoring, and push notification providers that process data on our behalf.
For AI-powered features, data may be shared with Anthropic strictly to generate the response, budget recommendation, or extraction result you requested.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
Data Protection (Sensitive Data)
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect sensitive data, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting access to production systems to authorized personnel.
Where supported by our infrastructure providers, data is protected at rest and secrets are stored using secure configuration mechanisms.
We minimize data wherever possible by sending only the content required for the feature the user requested.
Google User Data (Gmail)
If you connect Gmail, Wuap requests Gmail access only after you explicitly authorize the integration.
Wuap uses Gmail data to detect and extract transaction details such as merchant, amount, date, and category so the budgeting features can work.
Wuap uses the Gmail modify scope in order to manage processed-email state required for the automatic sync workflow. Wuap does not use Gmail data for advertising and does not sell Google user data.
Wuap’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and Deletion
We do not store full raw email bodies as permanent user records in our main product database. We store extracted transaction records, integration metadata, and the minimum identifiers needed to prevent duplicates and operate the app.
We store Google OAuth tokens only while the Gmail integration remains active. You can revoke Wuap’s access at any time in your Google Account settings.
Wuap supports account deletion inside the app. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize account data and connected integrations except where retention is legally required.
